Laser Scanning – Tunnels
Coastway were commissioned to laser scan the Dublin Port Tunnel. The purpose of the exercise was to produce a 2D cross section every 5 meters to compare vehicle structure gauge. The results highlighted areas where modification to light fittings, traffic control lights and speaker systems and other tunnel furniture were required to allow traffic to flow unhindered. This survey included the collection of some 10 billion survey points a task itself impossible using standard survey methods.)
