Laser Scanning is the ideal method for collecting large amounts of data on buildings, especially in the case of complex or detailed buildings, or where a number of buildings are to be surveyed in high detail in one location. In effect the laser scanner measures the position of the building at numerous locations and a typical building survey would have several million measured data points.

An example is the Clarence Hotel on the Quays in Dublin, Ireland. The hotel is owned by U2 and this building is a well known landmark. Our survey was used for 3 dimensional modelling for the purpose of upgrade and redevelopment of the site.

The second example included here is a typical street scene where redevelopment of the street may be undertaken in the future and designers are looking for visual as well as spatial data. An example of this application is where architects are designing walkways or seating areas, or in the case where construction is going to affect one or more existing buildings.
