Corrib Gas Field Onshore Development for Shell E&P Ireland Limited

Coastway, Chartered Geospatial Engineers, has been providing geospatial engineering services to support the construction of the onshore section of the Corrib gas pipeline since 2010. The Corrib gas field is located approximately 80km of the North West Atlantic coast of Ireland. Gas will be brought ashore through a sub-sea pipeline which then continues to a   gas terminal in Erris, County Mayo.

Coastway’s client for this project has been Shell E&P Ireland Limited (SEPIL), which is a subsidiary of  Shell’s wider European organisation. Shell has more than 50 years of experience in safely developing and operating onshore and offshore gas fields in Europe.

Coastway has undertaken detailed laser scan surveys for the proposed tunnelling compound at Aughoose and the landfall site at Glengad , as well as adjacent areas  in the Sruwaddacon Bay area.  Areas along the proposed onshore pipeline route have also been surveyed using the high definition laser scanner to assist in the planning of  the reinstatement of the areas to be undertaken once the pipeline has been installed.

Coastway has also undertaken detailed pre-condition laser scan surveys and structural surveys of many properties along the project haul routes in Erris.
